Day 24 Travel
God I love to travel. I got to do a lot of it growing up but as the years pass it happens less and less. Now its just random car drives to help me stay sane. I love to drive. It is so stress relieving for me and helps me clear my head. When you have the windows down and the music blasting its one of the best simple pleasures in life! I dont let the weather decide if my windows are down..... they are down in all types of weather... I need my fresh air!
I miss flying. Im not talking about taking a ride in a major airline. Both of my grandfathers had planes while I was growing up. My grandfather Jack was his own pilot flying himself in a jet back and forth to work everyday from LA to Big Bear up in the mountains. He also had a biplane that I never got to go in... the parachute was too big for a little girl. My grandfather Tim wasn't a pilot but had one that flew him where he wanted to go. We were flying to Jamaica one summer and it was very scary flying over Cuba's territory. We had to have all of our personal information ready to read over the radio and could see military jets. It was crazy! I had some amazing experiences growing up but I would trade them all to have gradfathers that were present in my life. So much has changed. I think flying runs through my veins... I would love to learn how to fly!

Day 23 Pet Peeve
Today was a serious one for me. I have lots of pet peeves but my two major ones are body image issues and plastic surgery. I myself am not immune to the body image bullshit along with the rest of America. Over the last two years my confidence has grown a lot but I still have a ways to go before I love myself for who I am. I dont want to be skinny or look like everyone else I just want to love the body I am in. If I cant love myself now I never will. Its hard to step outside of the beauty box that society has put us in. Ever year it gets worse and I am worried for the children of the current generation.
We had fun with this shoot... lots of giggles while trying to come up with the different names people give their "imperfections". I have another idea that came along with this one that I think would be just as powerful but I will just have to save it for another time. A big thank you to my model!

Day 20 Ground Level
Day 19 Rust
I know this isn't really rust but its a rusty color... right? I had my camera out while walking around downtown before the concert and was sure I would have no problem finding a bit of rust... boy was I wrong! If I had been at work I would have had no problem at all! Le Sigh!

Day 16 Looking Down
This is a photo of a bowl of left over chocolate from dipping strawberries last weekend. No its not moldy! Its called blooming. Its when the fat "cocoa butter" separates from the chocolate. There is nothing wrong with the chocolate.. as soon as you melt it down it all mixes back together. Its pretty neat to look at when its in this state but if you are doing a chocolate sculpture its very bad news. It means you really messed up somewhere!
